GUIDE & FAQ

A good place
to start.

The essentials for your first switch.
And a few answers for what comes next.

StillSwitch is coming soon. Here’s what to expect at launch.

01 / YOUR MAC

Made for
your Mac.

Chip
Apple Silicon

A Mac with an Apple M-series chip. Intel Macs aren’t supported.

System
macOS 15 or later

Check your chip and macOS version in Apple menu → About This Mac.

StillSwitch lives in your menu bar. That’s where you’ll find permissions, your license and update status.

02 / FIRST STEPS

Open. Allow.
Switch.

  1. Open StillSwitch.

Once the public release is available, download it from this website and open the app. Look for StillSwitch in your menu bar.

  2. Allow window switching.

Choose Accessibility in the StillSwitch menu to open System Settings, then allow access for StillSwitch. If macOS asks you to reopen the app, follow that prompt.

  3. Find your next window.

Hold Command and press Tab. Keep holding Command and tap Tab to move forward, or Shift to move back. Release Command to switch. Escape keeps you where you are.

You can also use the arrow keys, or point to a window and click.

03 / TRIAL & LICENSE

Time to try.
Yours to keep.

14 DAYS / ALL FEATURES

Start when you’re ready.

No account. No payment card. Your trial starts when StillSwitch is first ready to switch windows, after you’ve allowed Accessibility. Screen Recording permission is optional.

You get 14 consecutive days, including time when the app is closed or your Mac is asleep. Check the end date under License in the menu.

ONE PURCHASE / UP TO 3 MACS

Keep using StillSwitch 1.x.

A one-time purchase gives you a perpetual StillSwitch 1.x license for up to three Macs, including updates within 1.x. There’s no subscription. Future major versions aren’t included.

At launch, you’ll be able to buy through License → Buy StillSwitch. After checkout, paste your license key into the app and choose Activate. Activation requires an internet connection; everyday switching works offline after your activation is saved.

04 / A FEW ANSWERS

Good to
know.

What happens when my trial ends?

Your current switching gesture finishes, then Command–Tab returns to the macOS switcher. There’s no popup interrupting your work. You can still open StillSwitch’s menu to buy and activate a license.

Why does StillSwitch need these permissions?

Accessibility lets StillSwitch select and switch windows. Screen Recording lets it create the previews you see in the switcher and is optional. Window titles, previews and switching history stay on your Mac.

You control these permissions in macOS System Settings. StillSwitch’s menu takes you to the relevant settings.

Why do some windows show an icon instead of a preview?

Minimized windows use app icons. You’ll also see icons when Screen Recording isn’t allowed or a preview isn’t available. An unavailable preview doesn’t prevent switching to a valid window.

Can StillSwitch start when I sign in?

Yes. Choose Launch at Login in StillSwitch’s menu to open macOS Login Items settings. You decide whether to enable it.

What if I replace a Mac or reach the three-Mac limit?

Contact contact@nostmic.com for help with your existing license before trying to activate another Mac. Include your purchase email or order number. Reinstalling the app doesn’t release an activation slot.

What if switching or activation isn’t working?

For switching, check Accessibility in StillSwitch’s menu. For activation, check your internet connection and license key. If the problem continues, email us with your StillSwitch and macOS versions and the message you see.

If the app shows a Recovery reference, include it along with your purchase email or order number. Keep your saved license information while we help.
